I know I may be a bit slow on the trend, but I am really start­ing to love Chevron. I am exper­i­ment­ing adding it to walls, pil­lows, rugs…anything I can paint it on actu­ally! I had a really bor­ing guest room in need of a lit­tle style, so I decided I would add a chevron accent wall. Since it was right before Christ­mas, I didn’t have a lot of time or energy, so I decided that instead of an elab­o­rate tap­ing job I would just mark off a grid and free­hand it. Funny thing is that within a week of com­plet­ing this wall, I read that a new trend we will see is hand painted chevron! Well, I am offi­cially on trend then…(not just too lazy to tape it off!) Here is a look at what I was work­ing with.

I used a chalk line to cre­ate a grid of 12″ squares.  Then I used a straight edge and a pen­cil to make the chevron pat­tern.  At that point instead of using a lot of tape and a roller, I sim­ply dipped my paint brush in paint and lightly brushed back and forth along the pen­cil line.  And here are the final results.

I really love how it turned out.  I espe­cially like these kinds of “big bang for your buck” types of dec­o­rat­ing projects.  Now I can turn my atten­tion to pil­lows.  Any suggestions?
